Wandbild „Dresdner Zwinger“
Dieses Fliesenbild ist eine Dauerleihgabe des Unternehmers Friedrich Jähnicke aus Hannover. Es ist ein Erbstück von seinen Urgroßeltern, die vor über 100 Jahren eine Schokoladenfabrik betrieben. Das Fliesenbild mit der Darstellung des Dresdener Zwingers und Teilen der Langgalerien mit einer höfischen Festgesellschaft im Vordergrund, entstand etwa 1880 in der Dresdener Fabrik von Villeroy und Boch in Kobaltblauer Unterglasurmalerei und schmückte seinerzeit den Empfangsbereich in der Schokoladenfabrik. Der Rahmen besteht aus reich verzierten Porzellanprofilen, die zum Teil mit Schmelzgoldbemalung besonders edel gestaltet wurden.

“Dresdner Zwinger” mural
This tile mural is on permanent loan from the entrepreneur Friedrich Jähnicke of Hanover. It’s an heirloom passed down from his great-grandparents, who operated a chocolate factory more than 100 years ago. The tile mural depicts the Zwinger in Dresden and parts of the galleries with a courtly social occasion in the foreground. It was produced around the year 1880 in the Dresden factory of Villeroy and Boch, in cobalt blue underglaze painting, and graced the chocolate factory’s reception area at the time. The frame consists of richly decorated porcelain profiles, in part with an especially noble design painted with molten gold.
